WARM WELCOME BY THE PEOPLE OF KAGOSHIMA
Believe it or not but WE were warmly welcomed by the people of Kagoshima . The feeling that i felt was WOW, this is unbelievable. There was a crowd of local people who assembled in one of the city,s hall last Sunday. The people of Kagoshima took their initiatives by organising a half day tour trip in the city and then held a welcome ceremony in the afternoon. We also had the chance to wear KIMONO at the ceremony. To my friends elsewhere, please....please come and study here. You wont regret it at all! I can assure you that the effort is a lifetime guarantee To The People of Kagoshima, KUDOs for the warm welcome and we look forward to stay and explore the beauty of this haven.

SEAFOOD OF JAPAN
Do you love seafood? Seafood is one of the protein source in the earth. Most importantly, seafood is healthy, halal and easy-to-find food as compared to other foods. Say what you want...but I am promoting seafood as a daily must-eat-food . Japan is one of the most advanced country in aquaculture practice; you name it: fish, prawn, seaweed....to pearl culture. Enjoy some of the shots taken here and there at fish markets located at Ueno(Tokyo), Kyoto and Osaka. Once again, EAT SEAFOOD AND YOU WILL STAY HEALTHY

ORIENTATION IN KAGOSHIMA UNIVERSITY
YES!!!! My dream came true; I have enrolled myself as a research student in Kagoshima and to tell you the truth, I feel at home. Presently, my family and i are staying at the Kaikan (International Residence Hall) of Kagoshima University. The community here consists of many nationalities (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Indonesian, Tanzanian, Pakistani, Philippines, Bangladesh, Spainish,Brazilians, Peru,Australian,Columbians, German, Vietnamese and of course Malaysian). Did I miss anyone? Our seniors organised a welcome party for the newcomers and it was enjoyable. Lots of goodies: food, a good live band and the best part was we had a DANCE party too. Wow...salsa, samba..emmm what else, tanzania dance etc. Thumps up to the organiser; it was really a warm welcome. Honto ni, partei wa tanoshikata desu. Domo arigato gozaimashita.

Spring season starts at end of March. It is totally the opposite of winter: beautiful sun, not so cold weather and most importantly, the flowers start to bloom. In Japan, sakura blooms at different time according to the area respectively. People say that it starts downsouth and of course, Hokkaido (if there is any) will be the last area to see the beauty of sakura. Whats our say on sakura? No words can describe them except SUGOI (wow in Japanese) . Beautiful, soft colour and amazingly breathtaking. Wish we have such thing in Malaysia.

March 29, 2005 marked our last day in Tokyo. Since March 30th, we had moved downsouth to Kyushu Island for another venture: the real venture of being a postgraduate student. Leaving Tokyo was a mixed feeling; EXTREMELY happy to leave the hustle and bustle of Tokyo but VERY sad to leave our dear friends behind. However, moving to another new foreign place is indeed an exciting venture. Tokyo no tomodachi, sabishi ni narimashita demo daijobu to omoimashita. Hima no toki, Kyushu no Kagoshima e kuru ne.

ASIA BUNKA KAIKAN J4 & J3 SPEECH DAY
Who says learning Nihongo is easy? It is impossible to master this language within 6 months if one has no basic in Kanji (the ancient Chinese characters). Of course, if you are born with language skills, there should be no problem. Leaning Nihongo in Japan differs from learning it back home. We have to learn new vocabularies and also grammar daily. Its speciality is how exams are conducted. You will have to face daily exams so to those people who look forward to master this language, be prepared to do so. Nihongo no bengkyo wa chotto muzukashi ne. Mainichi, takusan atarashii kotoba ga aru; Ima, watashiwa roku getsu gurai o benkyoshimashita, demo muzukashii no kotoba wa toki doki wasuretan yo. Iipai desu kara. Moshi jikan ga aru, mo ichido bengkyoshitain desu. Minnasan, issyoni nihongo bengko o gambarimasyo!!!

DISNEYLAND TOKYO
Finally, we saw Mickey Mouse and the gang in person. That was the dream years ago; just to see Disneyland. Disneyland Tokyo is located in Chiba Prefecture. Everything looks alike in Disneyland USA except for the language of course. There are two areas which you should see (the disney sea and disney park); We went to Disney Seaworld and we didnt manage to visit all locations there. It is too huge. Be sure to bring lots and lots of money when you come to this place; if you have children....aha....becareful with your spending!!! You wont realised that you spent a fortune if you have a kind heart towards your children. However, by budgeting wisely, you will DEFINITELY enjoy this trip. Disneyland is a MUST-GO trip to anyone who comes to Japan. MOCHIRON TANOSHII DESU! (It will definitely be an enjoyable trip).

WINTER IN JAPAN
Have you ever touch the snow? Was it soft? Was it beautiful? Was it cold? The answers are YES. Japan has four season in a calendar year. Winter falls from December to February but the coldest is in Feb. Snow drops at different ratio: Hokkaido with the most (probably 3 quarters throughout the year) and Kagoshima/Okinawa with the least (if if falls). It can be very cold during these months so please ensure that you are properly covered and try not to catch the "influenza". It can be disastrous!
